Today’s protests saw significant numbers of protesters publicly demonstrate across 23 counties. The Law Society of Kenya, Police Reforms Working Group, and the Kenya Medical Association condems police brutality on the loss of life and injuries as the nation commemorates the first anniversary of 25 June 2024.
Alteast eight protesters were killed by brutal police officers today, with over 400 others treated, 83 of them referred to specialized treatment for serious injuries.They express condolences to the families of the deceased, urging those still on the streets to exercise care to avoid further loss of life and injury.
The lobby group reminds all law enforcement agencies currently deployed and under the control and command of the National Police Service to exercise restraint. “Every Kenyan life is precious.” They cautioned
