President William Ruto has officially appointed Douglas Kanja Kibicho as the Inspector General of the National Police Service.
The announcement was made by President Ruto via a gazette notice Dated September 18, 2024.
Kanja’s appointment follows the approval by the National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Administration and Internal Security, as well as the Senate Standing Committee on National Security and Foreign Relations.
He will serve in the capacity for four years.
Previously, Kanja served as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and will succeed his former boss, Japhet Koome, who resigned after the anti-government demonstrations.
