Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has urged local leaders to steer clear of divisive early campaigns and instead focus on delivering services to the people in the remaining two years before the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during the commissioning of 930 men into community service, Wamatangi called for peace, sobriety, and unity, warning against politics driven by personal interests and witch-hunts.
He emphasized that his administration is committed to fulfilling its promises, citing progress in infrastructure and early childhood education. He noted that the Senate is expected to visit the county next week to benchmark on the strides made, especially in improving the welfare of young learners.
“I will not climb onto car rooftops to campaign while our people are waiting to see development,” the governor said, adding that his focus remains on tangible service delivery.
Wamatangi also urged the newly commissioned team to champion love within families and communities, and called on the Church to continue praying for leaders to be guided by the Holy Spirit as they serve Wanjiku.
