Jamaica dancehall star Vybz Kartel and his fiancée Sidem Ozturk have announced that they are expecting their first child together.
The couple shared the news during Kartel’s performance at the Reggae Land 2026 festival in Milton Keynes, in the United Kingdom (UK).
During his performance, Kartel paused and invited Ozturk on stage and a crowd of more than 65,000 people witnessed the revelation before Kartel could perform his last music song, “Come Breed Me.”
Kartel was seen affectionately rubbing Ozturk’s baby bump, confirming the pregnancy to the cheering fans as “Can You Give Me a Baby” played in the background.
In 2015, they began their relationship when Ozturk, a Turkish worker, began vibing with Kartel while he was incarcerated in Jamaica. She traveled to Jamaica to meet Kartel in person, deepening their bond. Later in 2022, Kartel proposed to Ozturk during her prison visits.
In July 2024, Kartel was released after the UK Privy Council overturned his conviction due to juror misconduct, allowing Kartel to live together with his fiancée. In November 2024, Kartel proposed again to his fiancée with a new ring, stating it symbolized freedom and renewal.
