An autopsy conducted at Lee Funeral Home revealed the death of veteran gynecologist and Nairobi Hospital board director Dr. Job Obwaka, who passed on May 1, at the age of 83, was caused by cardiac arrest linked to a pre-existing heart condition.
Family spokesperson Joseph Ndungu said the autopsy established cardiac arrest as the cause of death, providing clarity following the medic’s sudden passing. Dr. Obwaka was one of the figures doctor in the Kenya’s medical industry, with his career spanning decades.
The postmortem comes as Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continues with further investigations as they detain suspect Beatrice Wangari. Beatrice was arraigned yesterday at Kibera Law Court after spending the weekend in police custody, where was last seen together with Dr. Obwaka in Kitengela.
She was detained for 14 days to complete investigations, including a postmortem and toxicological analysis. Although, her defendant dismissed the allegations, stating the police has already conducted an investigation at the premises and found no evidence to support the claims of poisoning.
