The nation is mourning the loss of veteran diplomat and civic leader, Ambassador Boaz Mbaya, who passed away on Monday morning, June 23.
A distinguished public servant, Amb. Mbaya served Kenya with distinction across various diplomatic postings, including Ethiopia, Tanzania, France, and later as Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs.
In a heartfelt tribute, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi expressed deep sorrow, recalling Amb. Mbaya as a loyal confidante and campaign manager during the 2013 presidential race.
He was also remembered for his leadership as chair of the Former and Retired Ambassadors Association (FRAA) and his continued contribution to policy through his think tank, the Centre for Policy Analysis.
Amb. Mbaya’s legacy includes not only a celebrated diplomatic career but also a scholarly contribution to Kenya’s foreign policy discourse through his 2019 publication.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Mbaya, and their family.
