The United States Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha have announced the birth of their fourth child.
In a statement made by Vance and his wife Usha, said their son was born on Sunday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
“We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother,” Vance said.
Alec’s birth is not only a family celebration but also a historic event. He is the first child born to a sitting U.S. vice president in more than 150 years.
The last time a sitting vice president became a father was in 1870, when Vice President Schuyler Colfax and his wife Ellen welcomed a son during Ulysses S. Grant’s presidency.
JD Vance 41, has opened up about the importance of family and the challenges of declining birth rates in the United States. In his recent book, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith, he revealed that the decision to have a fourth child was influenced by a poignant moment.
Vance has three children: the first son, Ewan 9 years-old, followed by Vivek 6 years-old, and a daughter by the name Mirabel, who is 4- years- old.
