The United States Department of State has announced a reward of up to $10 million (about KSh 1.3 billion) for information that could help identify or locate senior Iranian officials connected to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The offer, made through the Rewards for Justice programme, targets 10 leaders believed to oversee activities linked to the powerful military institution.

Among those listed is Mojtaba Khamenei, who recently assumed leadership following the reported death of Ali Khamenei during joint US and Israeli airstrikes. Washington alleges the IRGC plays a central role in coordinating militant operations worldwide, which it classifies as acts of terrorism.

Other officials included in the reward notice are Ali Larijani, Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib, and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. The United States has long accused the IRGC of supporting militant networks and targeting American interests, an allegation that led Washington to designate the group a foreign terrorist organisation in 2019.
