The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has intensified its campaign activities for its flagbearer Samuel Muchina Nyaga ahead of the July 17 Ol Kalou by-election, with party leaders rallying residents to support its candidate.
UDA National Chairperson Hon. Cecily Mbarire conducted the women-focused mobilisation campaign, aimed at increasing Muchina’s grassroot supporters and promoting the party’s programme in the constituency.
Besides Mbarire, there were a number of other senior party officials and leaders including Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, Public Service Commission Commissioner Senator Wahome Wamatinga, Hon. Rahab Mukami, Hon. Irene Njoki Mrembo, Hon. David Gikaria, and East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) representative Hon. Maina Karobia.
County Assembly Members played an important role in the campaign. They were led by Hon. Mwangi Kagwe and Hon. Muhindi Kariuki who together rallied the people and inspired them to vote for the UDA candidate.
The leaders explained the party’s dedication to inclusive leadership, grassroots empowerment and the implementation of the Bottom, Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
They woed Ol Kalou citizens to cast their ballots for Samuel Muchina Nyaga arguing that his presence in parliament would accelerate the implementation of development projects and also help to realize UDA’s vision of grassroots economic transformation.
Political parties tend to increase their efforts to court supporters before the poll leading to a very lively Ol Kalou by, election.
