The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has officially opened nominations for upcoming by-elections in Samburu, Narok, and Elgeiyo Marakwet counties following recent declaration of vacancies.
The party is seeking candidates for the Emurua Dikirr parliamentary seat, as well as county assembly seats in Porro Ward, Samburu West Constituency, and Endo Ward, Marakwet East Constituency.
According to a notice from the UDA National Elections Board (NEB), nominations will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, while the registration period opens on Tuesday, March 17, and closes on Friday, March 20 at 5:00 p.m.
Interested aspirants are required to register through the UDA party portal at www.uda.ke. Registration will only be considered complete after both portal registration and payment of the nomination fee.
The nomination fees range from Sh25,000 to Sh250,000 depending on the position and category, with discounted fees for women, youth, and persons with disabilities.
Payments are to be made via MPESA STK Push, with the aspirant’s ID number required for verification.
UDA NEB Chairman Anthony Mwaura emphasized that the nomination process is strictly dependent on both registration and payment, and urged candidates to adhere to the set timelines.
The party views the by-elections as a critical test of its grassroots support ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Party officials say they expect a high number of aspirants and are working to ensure a smooth, transparent, and inclusive nomination process across the affected constituencies.
