Two people have been taken into custody after police confiscated a large quantity of what they suspect to be cannabis during a raid in Langobaya, Kilifi County.
The raid, which was carried out by Langobaya Police officers on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, followed a tip-off from locals. The officers targeted a shop in Chakama Township, Langobaya Division.
According to the police, the raid led to the recovery of 220 rolls of suspected cannabis sativa and 9 kilograms of the same which were found in a steel box among other items.
The two suspects were arrested on the spot, while the suspected drugs were taken to Langobaya Police Station as exhibits.
The National Police Service expressed gratitude to the public for providing valuable information to the police that led to the raid. The public tips are important in the fight against drugs.
