Kenyan comedian and social media content creator Terence Creative has left social media laughing once again after making a proposal about TikTokers and their booming online wealth.
Heading to Facebook, Terence congratulated Kenya TikTokers on their massive financial achievement, joking that it was about time they started their own Sacco or association to handle all the money being raked from their performances and endorsement deals.
“This is so incredible, naona sasa tufungue TikTokers bank ama Sacco ama association mahali mnaweka tu pesa ya hii shugli,” he posted, accompanied by clapping emojis.
His tweet soon went viral, with hundreds of laughing followers and fellow artists commenting on it.
While others agreed with Terence’s remark, others found his suggestion laughable and sarcastic. Purity Humphrey commented as follows:
“It’s the audacity yako ya kuwapangia ???? stay on your lane dude, if they wanted they would have… “
Churchill Dibondo disagreeably responded humorously to the Sacco suggestion by stating,
“Acha tuwe tunachangia tu kila shughuli. Mambo ya saccos hapa Kenya ni kama gamble tu.”
Others like David Macharia chipped in, saying,
“Now this is where we differ, tunajipanga kivyetu.”
In spite of the tongue-in-cheek criticism, the post highlights how TikTok has evolved from a joke app to a real money-making platform for the majority of Kenyan youth. Content creators, comedians, and influencers keep inking large contracts and partnerships, which proves that digital entertainment is an industry in serious business now.
