Singer Stevo Simple Boy previously confirmed that he will travel to Saudi Arabia alongside Machabe, his new signee. However, the travel and accommodation arrangements may see the deal dismissed.
Simple Boy made it clear that they don’t plan to travel Economy for their first trip abroad. The duo said they’ll only jet out on a business class flight.
Stevo Simple Boy asserted that he was shocked when he was given economy flight tickets contrary to their prior agreement. In a five-minute video shared on Instagram on September 21, 2024 Stevo Simple Boy said,
“Mlikuwa mnatarajia tusafiri kesho, lakini kuna vitu ambavyo haviko sawa. Tuliagree watutumie ndege ya business class lakini wakatuma economy class,”
The two also commented on the confusion that surrounds their accommodation arrangements. Machabe claimed,
” Alafu pia hawajaclarify vizuri tunaenda kulala kwa hoteli gani. They are not communicating,”
The duo also confirmed that they received deposit for the international gig in Saudi Arabia. They asserted that they will refund the money if things don’t go as planned. They accused the promoter of failing to communicate and failing to follow through their agreements.
Machabe and Stevo Simple Boy clarified that,
“Of course they sent us a deposit for the gig. If they do not communicate clearly, we will have to refund the deposit because we can’t make away with people’s money.
We are not comfortable travelling in economy class. The agreement was business class.”
Stevo Simple Boy first shared his plans to perform in Saudi Arabia on ‘Hangout’ show on K24 TV on Friday, August 30, 2024.
He revealed that he landed the international gig after his phrase, “mefi mefi muskla,” caught attention in the Asian nation earning him an international debut.
“Mafi Mafi Mshkila ni lugha ya kiarabu, na wakati nilisema hiyo msamiati unajua nini ilifanyika? Ni bahati mwezi ujao tarehe 23 naenda Saudi Arabia kwa mara ya kwanza nitakuwa na piga show ya kwanza.”
