The ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Creative Economy says commercialization of sports and sports infrastructures call for the establishment of a comprehensive framework that defines management pathways which guarantees continuity and sustainability.
According to Sports Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi, this critical draft document outlines the economic potential of our sports facilities as well as outlining the modalities of sustainably managing them through strategic partnerships with county government and private investors.
This framework will catalyse the efforts by the government to fully drive the commercialization of sports assets while ensuring the facilities remained functional and well-maintained.
“This model speaks to the future of sports management where national and county governments collaborate with private sectors to optimize on utilization of sports facilities” the PS stated.

Adding; “The involvement of counties and other private sector players in management of sports facilities is intended to strengthen the inter-governmental collaborative initiatives while encouraging growth of sports across Kenya as well as position the sports facilities as key revenue generators”.
