Senate Speaker Amason Kingi has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of his long-serving bodyguard, Corporal John Lwane Lumumba.
As announced by Kingi, Lumumba died suddenly on New Year, Thursday, January 1.
Shocked, the speaker said he had interacted with the bodyguard, whom they had chatted with jovially shortly before his sudden death.
The Senate leader painfully mourned Lumumba, saying he discharged his duties with utmost dedication, professionalism and loyalty.
"Gone too soon my young brother. To me, you were not just a bodyguard; you were family. I admired the way you discharged your duty with utmost dedication, professionalism and loyalty. RIP Cpl. John Lwane Lumumba," said Speaker Kingi.
