Serena and Venus Williams will return to Wimbledon this summer after they were granted a wildcard entry to compete in the women’s doubles.

The announcement by the All England Club stated the sisters will appear together at the prestigious tournament in nearly a decade.

Serena made her comeback at Queen’s early this month, winning the tournament after four years away during the 2022 US Open. She is expected include the seven Wimbledon titles in Berlin this week with Karolina Muchova and continue with her comeback on the Grand Slam stage alongside Venus.

Together they have won 14 Grand Slam doubles titles, including 6 Wimbledon crowns and 3 Olympic gold medals.

Venus has lost all seven of her singles matches this season, but won a doubles match alongside Britain’s Katie Boulter at the Madrid Open in April.

The wildcard will ensure Serena and Venus will grace the grass court, building a legacy, while they were not included in the singles wildcard list.

Both sisters haven’t played together since the 2022 US Open, where Venus has continued to play sparingly on tour seasons, including the Australian Open.

Despite Venus showing struggles in singles, she has demonstrated signs of doubles, winning alongside Britain’s Katie Boulter at Madrid Open in April.

Their return to Wimbledon is not just about competition but a celebration of resilience, family and legacy. Former players and commentators have emphasized their reunion as sisters who have broken barriers, inspired generations and redefined what it means to be champions.
