President William Ruto has issued a stern warning to public servants, urging them to uphold integrity and accountability in the discharge of their duties, noting that even a single lapse in judgment can have serious consequences for the country.

Addressing government officials during a national governance forum, President Ruto emphasized that trust in public institutions is a critical pillar of national stability — one that must not be taken for granted.

“Never forget that a single lapse in judgment or abuse of authority can have far-reaching consequences,” the President said. “When trust in public institutions is broken — whether through corruption, abuse of power, or neglect of duty — it can erode social cohesion and threaten national stability.”

He urged all arms of government to lead by example, stressing that good governance, transparency, and service delivery are essential to building a united and resilient nation.

The President’s remarks come amid ongoing efforts to strengthen anti-corruption frameworks and enhance accountability across public institutions.

His administration has pledged to crack down on graft and restore public confidence in state agencies.
