President William Ruto has reaffirmed the Kenyan Government’s commitment to implementing robust measures aimed at supporting the Kenyan Diaspora.
Speaking at a meeting with Kenyans working at the United Nations, held at the Kenyan Permanent Mission in New York, the President announced the launch of a new labor mobility program designed to create and expand employment opportunities for Kenyans abroad.
“Under our new labor mobility programme, we are actively scanning and identifying opportunities for Kenyans to work in foreign countries,” President Ruto stated. He emphasized the importance of supporting Kenyans overseas, acknowledging their contributions to both the host countries and their homeland.
During the meeting, President Ruto expressed pride in the significant presence of Kenyans at the United Nations, highlighting that there are over 1,800 Kenyans working at the UN Headquarters in New York.
This achievement underscores the capabilities and professionalism of Kenyans on the global stage, he noted.
The President’s visit comes as part of a broader initiative to strengthen ties with the diaspora and ensure that their needs and contributions are recognized and supported by the government.
He urged the Kenyan community abroad to remain engaged with developments back home and to leverage their experiences to benefit the nation.
With the new labor mobility program, the government aims to facilitate a smoother transition for Kenyans seeking employment opportunities internationally, ensuring that they have access to necessary resources and support.
