Principal Secretary Susan Auma Mang’eni has accused former Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba of attempting to disrupt a UDA delegate sensitisation meeting in Budalangi, Busia County.
In a strongly worded statement, Mang’eni said the people of Budalangi would not remain in poverty because of what she described as selfish political interests.
She accused Namwamba of opposing President William Ruto’s re-election bid and alleged that his actions were aimed at undermining the President’s political agenda.
Mang’eni further claimed that Namwamba had not invested in the UDA party despite benefiting politically from the party in the past.
According to Mang’eni, the alleged disruption occurred during a UDA delegate BETA sensitisation meeting in Budalangi.
She claimed that a group of people attempted to interfere with the meeting but were overpowered, allowing the gathering to proceed.
Mang’eni said UDA delegates subsequently opened their office and reaffirmed their support for President Ruto.
She also criticised Namwamba’s political record in Budalangi, accusing him of presiding over poverty in the area for a decade.
“Going by today’s mood on the ground, my friend, Abulao yocha,” Mang’eni said, while claiming that residents had rejected what she termed political blackmail.
She vowed that the UDA campaign would continue making inroads in Budalangi, saying the party’s empowerment agenda was unstoppable.
