President Ruto To Address At Nairobi County Assembly

The National Police has informed the public a temporary traffic disruption at Central Business District (CBD), as the President is expected to address at National County Assembly in the afternoon, but before that he will attend Africa Urban Forum at the Kenyatta International Convention Center (KICC).

The Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, announced on Wednesday at the Africa Urban Forum that President William Ruto would grace the the second day of the conference on Thursday.

This will be a historic as it is the first formal address by a sitting head of state in any county assembly since devolution.

Security has been tightened in City Hall- Wabera Street, the Supreme Court- Parliament roundabout. Motorist have been urged to use alternative roads as they will be guided by traffic police.

President Ruto, is expected to provide a comprehensive update on the implementation of the Ksh 80billion cooperation agreement of the planning and delivery of key projects across the city.

Under the agreement, Ksh 3.7billion was set aside for the completion of the 10,000 stalled street lights and an additional installation of 40,000 lights across of the city. Kenya Power, will also invest Ksh1.5billion in transformers and electricity connections in informal settlements.
