President William Ruto has announced plans to give former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s long-serving and loyal bodyguard, Maurice Ogeta, a government job.
Speaking during Raila’s funeral service at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University in Bondo on Sunday, October 19, the president said the job will be in recognition of Ogeta’s dedication and unwavering service to the former ODM leader over the years.
Notably, the bodyguard walked every step with Baba, in life and even in death, while in India.
“I must thank his security people, Maurice Ogeta especially, for standing with Raila always. I remember him in our days in ODM when he would even wipe our shoes when we came late for campaigns. Maurice, I want to tell you that as this government preserves Raila’s legacy, we will also take care of you and all those who looked after him,” said President Ruto.
