Popular Kenyan comedian and digital creator Flaqo has stirred a strong reaction online after pulling back the curtain on the illusion of social media relationships. In a candid Instagram Story shared on June 19, 2025, he warned his followers not to fall for the glamorised versions of love they see online.

Known for his humorous skits and character-driven content, Flaqo took a more serious tone this time. He pointed out that most of the romantic content shared by internet-famous couples is not spontaneous or genuine—but carefully planned and staged to create an image of perfection that doesn’t exist behind the scenes.

He argued that what people often admire online is not reality, but a performance. These seemingly perfect relationships are edited, polished, and sometimes rehearsed just like a movie scene—with the sole goal of selling a dream.

Flaqo reminded fans that all couples go through ups and downs, even those who appear flawless on screen. He cautioned that constantly consuming such content can lead to false comparisons, pressure, and dissatisfaction in real-life relationships.

He further stressed that social media is a highlight reel, not the whole story. What the audience sees is what the creator chooses to show—often far from the truth. And while it’s fine to enjoy such content for entertainment, Flaqo advised against taking it at face value.
