The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is asking vehicle owners who applied for logbooks to pick them up from the centres where they made their applications.

According to a notice issued on Friday, August 1, thousands of processed logbooks are lying uncollected at NTSA offices across the country.

The agency emphasized that collecting the logbooks is free, and all that is required is an identification card and the previous logbook.

“Thousands of logbooks remain uncollected across NTSA offices. We urge candidates to collect theirs from the centres they chose upon application," the notice added.

To check if their logbook is ready, owners of the cars can access the NTSA self-service portal, where they will be able to track the status of their documents and view important information related to their vehicle’s registration.

In a statement issued, just a day after NTSA started a nationwide crackdown to ensure that drivers comply with all traffic laws, the agency reminded drivers to verify that their cars are comprehensively insured, roadworthy, and that the driving licenses are up to date.

For Public Service Vehicles, NTSA stated that the conductors and drivers must wear uniforms and display valid PSV badges, in addition to the vehicles having valid road service licenses.

PSVs and commercial vehicles must also be equipped with functional speed governors, which send data to NTSA systems.
