Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro is facing growing criticism from within the Kenya Kwanza camp after apologising to Kenyans for missing the crucial vote on the Finance Bill 2026.

The latest attacks came from Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi and former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria, who questioned Nyoro’s explanation and accused him of taking an unclear political position.

Nyoro had on Saturday apologised to Kenyans for failing to vote on the Bill despite publicly raising concerns over some of its provisions during debate in Parliament. His apology has since sparked mixed reactions both online and within political circles.

Reacting to the apology, Sudi took a swipe at the Kiharu MP, accusing him of becoming a political fence-sitter.

“My brother Ndindi Nyoro, what are you even saying, buana? I can see you’ve followed yule mtu wa 50 years in government, Kalonzo, to become a watermelon and a fence-sitter,” Sudi said.

He added, “Elucidate the crinkum crankum and the higi haga.”

Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria also joined the debate, claiming Nyoro had walked into a political trap set by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

“My brother Ndindi Nyoro, I warned you Rigathi will finish you. He has you where he wanted,” Kuria wrote.

He continued, “Either you are finished completely or you are completely finished. What a sad day for our modern-day Matiba. Pole sana. At least I warned you.”

The remarks mark a fresh twist in the political fallout surrounding the Finance Bill 2026, with Nyoro now finding himself under pressure from some of President William Ruto’s allies.

Nyoro’s absence during the vote drew attention because he had emerged as one of the lawmakers who openly questioned parts of the Bill before Parliament voted on it. His subsequent apology has continued to generate debate over political responsibility and accountability.

While Nyoro has acknowledged disappointing Kenyans by missing the vote, he is yet to publicly respond to the latest criticism from Sudi and Kuria.
