Musician-turned-politician Kevin Bahati has once again stirred political talk after suggesting he could return to the ballot in 2027.

His first attempt in the 2022 General Election saw him vie for the Mathare parliamentary seat, where he lost to ODM’s Anthony Oluoch. Before the election, Bahati had an emotional moment after the Jubilee Party urged him to step down, citing Mathare as an ODM stronghold.

After the polls, Bahati went quiet for a while before resurfacing online, insisting he had actually won the seat. He claimed the process was flawed, alleging that at least 21 ballot boxes were interfered with, denying him victory. While a section of his supporters backed his claims, many critics dismissed the allegations and urged him to accept the outcome.

His latest remarks came during a birthday celebration for actress Dorea Chege and DJ Dibul’s daughter, where he hinted at a fresh bid. Addressing guests, Bahati playfully remarked that he sees votes whenever he looks at people, urging them to support him in Mathare. He also shared relationship advice with couples at the event, noting that disagreements are a normal part of growth, and encouraged partners to work through challenges instead of walking away.
