Comedian Mulamwah has denied claims that he was used by the government to divert public attention from the surprise return of former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i.
Matiang’i jetted back into the country on Thursday night after stepping down from an international role.
His arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) sparked excitement and speculation about his political future, especially ahead of the 2027 elections.
Amid the buzz, online rumours suggested Mulamwah’s personal drama was a deliberate distraction.
The comedian responded via Instagram Stories yesterday laughing off the claims as absurd.
“Mko na jokes… Avoid spreading lies. If I got 10 million, I’d be in the Cayman Islands. So far, I’ve only received Ksh28,000 from greetings at one shilling each,” he joked.
Mulamwah’s name has been trending recently, not for comedy, but for a public fallout with his ex-girlfriend, Ruth K.
The two exchanged emotional accusations online, with Ruth alleging emotional abuse and Mulamwah blaming her friends for the breakup.
Ruth accused him of mocking her online, reversing a Ksh5,000 transfer, and sharing private content to embarrass her. Mulamwah countered, claiming she had become proud and disrespectful after gaining fame through him.
As the drama escalated, both issued public apologies. Mulamwah acknowledged he had let emotions take over and apologized to Ruth and his fans.
