Several Cabinet Secretaries have made fresh appointments and reappointments to the boards of State institutions in the education, health, research and communication sectors.
The appointments were published in Gazette Notices dated August 28, 2026.
Among those who made the appointments are Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale and Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba.
Mudavadi appointed Dr Thomas Kiprono Serem as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Research Fund for a period of three years.
He also named Davidson M. Mwaisaka, Dr Michael N. Walekhwa and Joel Onditi to the Board of the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI).
The three will serve for three years.
The National Research Fund Board of Trustees also got four new members. Wakiuru Njuguna, Dr Fidelis Mwaka Muia, Dr Samuel Tiriongo and Prof Jane Catherina Ngila were appointed to serve for three years.
At the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), Duale reappointed four board members for another three-year term.
They are Paul Kaino Cheboi, Eunice Wangui Karanja, Hardlyne Lusui and Joseph Ouma Atonga.
Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo also made appointments to institutions under his ministry.
Kabogo reappointed Ndungu Guchu, Jimmy Munyao Mauta and Dinah Samikwo as members of the Kenya Yearbook Editorial Board.
Their new three-year term will begin on September 1, 2026.
The ICT CS also appointed Mashati Meitamei to the Council of the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication for a three-year term starting August 28.
Education CS Julius Ogamba, on the other hand, appointed Abdi Mouild Abdi as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Council of the Kenya Institute of Special Education.
The appointment is for three years.
Ogamba also named Daniel Njiru Mugendi and Fred Simiyu Barasa as members of the Placement Board of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
The two will also serve for three years.
The appointments place the new and returning officials in boards and councils responsible for areas such as research funding, science and technology, medical training, special needs education, media training and university and college placement.
Most of the appointments take effect from the dates stated in the respective Gazette Notices.
