Members of Parliament allied to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed allegations that the looting and vandalism of properties during Wednesday demonstrations was financed by opposition.

Led by national assembly leader of the minority party Robert Mbui, lawmakers say the youths are very angry because the current regime has failed to honour it’s promises.

Politicians allied to the Kenya Kwanza government insists the destruction was an attempted coup to overthrow the government. Led by Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa, accused the former DP of reportedly hiring goons from Mt Kenya Region to loot and destroy properties in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).”We are demanding the arrest of Rigathi Gachagua who has been ralling incitement and record sounding drums of war, inciting our young people against individuals who do not subscribe to his political ideology,” Barasa stated

As the nation continues to come to terms with the effects of destructive demonstrations witnessed on Wednesday, the political class continues to trade accusations and blames.

Politicians allied to the Kenya Kwanza government attributed the destruction to goons allegedly hired by former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, a narrative MPs allied to the former deputy president quickly dismissed.

They attribute the anger among youths witnessed during the demos to failed promises made by Kenya Kwanza government.

The MPs also criticised interior cabinet secretary kipchumba murkomen for issuing shoot to kill orders to police when attacked by protesters.
