Kenyan Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has stirred public outrage after making controversial remarks about his recent breakup, expressing his desire for a partner who would allow him to “cheat in peace.”
In a statement that has since gone viral on social media, Salasya revealed that he recently ended his relationship after his girlfriend discovered a message from another woman on his phone. “I recently broke up with my girlfriend, alivunja simu yangu ya KSh.300,000, my Samsung flip juu tu aliona message ya dem mwingine,” he said, referring to his KSh 300,000 Samsung flip phone being smashed in a fit of rage.
Rather than expressing regret or accountability, Salasya doubled down with even more shocking sentiments. “I don’t want a dramatic girl, I want a lady who will allow me to cheat in peace na nipige sherehe pia,” he stated boldly, implying that his ideal partner would tolerate infidelity and support his party lifestyle.
The comments have sparked widespread criticism from Kenyans online, with many calling out the MP for promoting toxic and disrespectful behavior in relationships, especially as a public figure expected to uphold integrity and values.
