Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has criticised former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his remarks regarding the ongoing Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi.

In a statement, Kuria said the timing and tone of Gachagua’s comments demonstrated a lack of concern for Kenya’s international image and national interests.

According to Kuria, hosting a continental event such as the Africa Forward Summit should be a source of pride for all Kenyans regardless of political differences.

“The timimg and flavour of Rigathi Gachagua’s comments on the Africa Forward Summit is further proof of a leader who does not care for this great nation. We may have our local differences but for Kenya to host an event of this magnitude is something that all well meaning Kenyans should be proud of,’Said Moses Kuria

He argued that leaders should support initiatives that position Kenya as a key player in regional and continental affairs.

Kuria also questioned Gachagua’s engagement with the international diplomatic community since leaving office, claiming that opposition leaders are expected to maintain relations with foreign stakeholders and development partners.

The former Cabinet Secretary further accused Gachagua of promoting divisive politics, warning that such leadership approaches could undermine national unity and broader political engagement.
