The Jubilee Party has officially endorsed former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i as its presidential candidate for the 2027 General Election.
During a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting , the first since the party’s National Delegates Conference, Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni announced that Matiang’i’s application to contest for the presidency under the party’s banner had been unanimously approved.
Kioni confirmed that the NEC had received and formally accepted Dr. Matiang’i’s bid, adding that he would now lead the party into the next election.
In addition to his endorsement, Dr. Matiang’i was appointed Deputy Party Leader, placing him at the heart of Jubilee’s leadership structure.

“We have appointed Dr. Fred Matiang’i as our Deputy Party Leader moving forward,” Kioni stated, noting that the former Cabinet Secretary will also represent Jubilee “within the united opposition.”
The NEC meeting also saw several leadership vacancies filled. Nakuru Town West MP Samuel Arama was named the National Assembly Whip, while Senator James Lomenen was appointed Senate Whip.
