Renowned Kenyan musician and business magnate Krg the Don has sought to address the issue of crab mentality in the underground entertainment industry in Kenya.
In his post that has been making the rounds online in no time, Krg the Don expressed his disappointment at the prevalence of crab mentality in the industry, which he claimed was characterized by jealousy and sabotage among young entertainers in the country. According to Krg the Don, instead of supporting young talent that has broken barriers to rise above the rest of the pack, there are people in the industry who would rather “pull them back into the mud.” He claimed that there are people in the industry with crab mentality.
“Crab Mentality is so real in underground Entertainment ya Kenya,” read an excerpt of his post that was accompanied by a video of the artist sitting in a car with bundles of cash stacked beside him.
This post was accompanied by a video of the artist seated in a car, with stacks of cash clearly piled up beside him, a sight that most online users saw as a bold statement on his own success.
Krg the Don, on the other hand, argued that the animosity was currently directed at “the only artist who kept their fans entertained yet wao ndio wako lazy,”Krg the Don ended his post with a statement that barriers cannot be broken with such a mindset, as well as his dismissal of the ongoing “beef” as childish.
