The Kiambu County Public Service Board has announced 60 vacancies for Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) Teacher III positions as part of efforts to strengthen learning in county pre-primary schools.
In a notice released on Friday, the county said successful applicants will be responsible for teaching young learners, preparing lesson plans, guiding classroom activities, and supporting the overall development of children in ECDE centres.
The teachers will also be expected to mentor learners, prepare teaching materials, monitor pupil progress, and ensure children are safe while in school.
From the recruitment advertisement, individuals seeking employment should have achieved a grade of C plain in the KCSE examination. Those with a grade of D+ are also eligible to apply provided they have a certificate or diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education.
The county also requires that individuals applying for the jobs should be TSC-registered, have basic computer application knowledge, and have a minimum of two years of work experience.
The employment opportunities will be on a contractual basis under the CPSB 11(H) category, and remuneration will be pegged on the SRC pay scale.
Applicants have to qualify based on integrity and leadership according to Chapter Six of the Constitution. The shortlisted applicants will have to provide clearance certificates from bodies such as Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), HELB and CRB.
County government asked potential applicants to download and fill Form 26E on the county website then physically submit it at the CPSB offices located in Room 103 of Thika sub-county CPSB offices.
All applications should be received before May 29. Applications coming late won’t be entertained, and only those who are shortlisted will be communicated with.
On the other hand, County government cautioned job seekers to beware of scammers requesting money in exchange of employment opportunity since recruitment exercise is completely free of cost.
