Kenyan skater Kevin Kiarie has confirmed he will not compete at the 2026 World Skate Games in Paraguay, bringing to an end a season that would have marked by international success.

He stated in a statement his disappointment after confirming he would not compete in the World Championships in Paraguay.

“It’s unfortunate we shall not make it to the World Championship 2026. I’ve tried everything within my control. We were not accorded the appropriate support despite my efforts,” Kiarie said in statement.

He added that if he could participate in the sport event it could have established himself in Kenya and Africa.

“Participating in this event could have been so special for me. I wanted to gift myself and my country, but it’s well,” Kiarie added.

Kiarie also missed the planned training opportunity in China after not raising enough money needed for travel.

He earlier stated he already secured a Paraguayan visa, registered for the competition and made arrangements for accommodation and equipment, but was unable to complete his journey because of a Panama transit visa.

His career shone after he emerged the African circuit with four medals, which include three gold and one silver, earning him a place in the world skater events in Paraguay.
