Kenya Tennis Team Secures Crucial 2-1 Victory Over Botswana In Davis Cup

Kenya’s national tennis team kept hopes alive in the Davis Cup Africa Group IV after a hard trial of 2-1 victory on day two, positioning themselves in Group A behind Angola.

The win came in the doubles clash, where Kael Shah and Zayyan Virani defeated Botswana’s Batsomi Marobela and Ntungamili Raguin in a three set battle of 2-1 of 6-3,4-6 and 6-3 claiming victory in the doubles.

Earlier, Kenya’s experienced Ismael Changawa led with a single win, showcasing composure and tactical brilliance. Though Kenya dropped one singles match, they clinched victory in the doubles with  a score of 2-1.

In the singles match, Shah lost the first set 5-7, recovering to win the second 6-2, before dropping in the third set 2-6 against Botswana’s Raguin.

Kenya, securing the second place with 3 wins and 3 losses, has firmly shown contention for qualification, pushing for consistency in the remaining fixtures.

Kenya’s Davis Cup team has demonstrated determination and a willingness to not be overshadowed, as Angola led the group.
