A new entertainment district will rise in nairobi’s central business district after Kenya Railways Corporation and zaria Group agreed to build a modern space and event space. The development could shift how people experience sports, live music, and cultural performances in the city.
The announcement was made at State House where President William Ruto described the pact as a major step toward realizing the nairobi Railway City Project. He highlighted how this project boosts opportunities in culture, sports, and trade across the country.
“This development will position the capital’s CBD as a premier hub for sports, entertainment, culture, and commerce across East Africa and the world,” said President Ruto
The head of state said the work on the site should wrap up within 12 months and generate around 25,000 jobs every year during its peak operations. This fits well with existing plans for improving transportation networks and expanding public gathering areas.
Zaria Group manages sports and entertainment assets across Africa, bringing proven expertise to the table. The area aims to become a vibrant hub drawing global attention. Still, many locals say daily life here will change dramatically once construction kicks off.
Rail access remains strong through the current rail corridor connecting east and west parts of town. The added venues could reshape traffic patterns and urban energy flows over time.
By focusing on public events, the government hopes to increase foot traffic downtown. It also supports small businesses along nearby streets.
