Kenya Pipeline And KCB Take Command In KVF National League Semifinals

Kenya volleyball giants Kenya Pipeline and KCB Bank stamped their legacy I at the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) at the Kasarani Indoor Arena for the National League semifinals, winning in their matches that took the lead in the best of three series.

Defending champions Kenya Pipeline faced off against Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) team in a 3-0 match, with scores of 25-17, 25-21 and 28-26. Their blocking and attacking both combinations proved too sharp for DCI. The third set offered a glimpse of DCI’s resilience, pushing Pipeline into extra points, as they held champions nerve.

KCB defeated Kenya Prisons 3-1 match, with scores of 25-14, 25- 18, 21-25, and 25- 22. In a battle of former champions, clashing in the game two with the Oilers and bankers seeking a 2-0 lead to set the stage for the finals series.

Their attack was spearheaded by Juliana Namutira, while Mercy Moim brought her leadership and composure as Terry Tata fired from the opposite wing, ensuring KCB stayed in control.

With both Pipeline and KCB one win away from the finals, the possibility of a rivalry has emerged, as both teams will define Kenyan volleyball, having carried the sport’s flag both locally and internationally.
