Mombasa court finds KDF officer George Odhiambo officer stationed at Mtongwe Naval Base guilty of defiling a 16-year-old girl in Likoni.
The court heard that between July 3 and November 16, 2020, Owino seduced the victim, promising to pay her school fees if she became his girlfriend.
The girl testified that they had sexual encounters multiple times at her home while her mother was away, leading to her pregnancy, which Owino admitted responsibility for but failed to provide adequate support afterwards.
In his defence, Owino claimed he was unaware of her age and suggested that their relationship was consensual but the court ultimately ruled against it.
He is now convicted of defilement and committing an indecent act with a child under the Sexual Offences Act.
