Kenya Development Corporation (KDC), in partnership with the African Association of Development Finance Institutions (AADFI), has convened a high-level workshop in Nairobi aimed at strengthening the capacity of Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) across Africa to manage problem and non-performing loans.

The forum has brought together delegates from leading DFIs across the continent to share practical experiences and best practices in risk management, portfolio performance and institutional resilience.

Representing KDC Director General Norah Ratemo, Director for Strategy, Research, Policy and Innovation, Faith Nene officially opened the workshop, emphasizing the need for stronger risk management frameworks to enable development finance institutions to effectively support Africa’s long-term economic transformation.

Nene said resilient financial institutions are essential in mobilising capital for strategic investments while safeguarding financial sustainability amid evolving economic challenges.
