People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua has called for solidarity among Kenyans pursuing justice, rights and democratic reforms, saying the country’s various struggles are interconnected.

In a statement on Friday, Karua said families seeking answers over the fate of their loved ones, human rights defenders, women advocating for safety, young people demanding opportunities and citizens exercising their constitutional freedoms were all pursuing the same national goal.

“Whether it is families seeking answers for loved ones, advocates defending the rights and freedoms guaranteed to every Kenyan, women demanding safety, young people calling for opportunity, or citizens exercising their constitutional rights, we are ultimately fighting for the same Kenya,” she said.

Karua urged Kenyans to remain actively engaged in civic and democratic processes, warning that silence and inaction create space for impunity to thrive.

“We must continue to show up, because silence strengthens impunity, while solidarity strengthens democracy,” she added.

The former Justice Minister emphasized that the power to shape the country’s future ultimately rests with citizens and not political leaders or institutions.

“The power to transform our country has always belonged to wananchi,” Karua said.
