Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has written to the Registrar of Political Parties, Ann Nderitu, formally communicating plans to rebrand the party — a strategic move aimed at redefining Wiper’s identity ahead of the 2027 general election.

Tukio has established that the letter outlines Wiper’s intention to change both its name and party symbols.

The decision was approved last week by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC), which endorsed the rebrand as part of a broader political repositioning.

“We are transforming Wiper into a national movement, fit to compete for power and represent the aspirations of all Kenyans.” source revealed.

Kalonzo, who is expected to be a key presidential contender in the 2027 race, appears to be consolidating his political base and revamping his party machinery as new political formations take shape across the country.

His rebranding move follows similar actions by his political allies and counterparts. Just recently, NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua rebranded her outfit to the People’s Liberation Party, signaling a renewed push for relevance and national appeal.

In a related development, Eugene Wamalwa, the Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) leader and former Defence Cabinet Secretary, also unveiled a new political outfit, reinforcing speculation of fresh realignments within the opposition ranks.

Meanwhile, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is also expected to officially launch his own political party in the coming weeks, after recently confirming its formation.
