ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo has reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to advancing digital transformation across Africa following Algeria’s entry into the #50in5 Initiative.

In a statement issued during the Global Africa Tech Summit in Algiers, Kabogo congratulated Algeria for joining the initiative, terming the move a strong signal of the continent’s growing focus on building secure, inclusive, and interoperable Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).

The CS noted that the #50in5 Initiative provides a practical framework for African countries to scale up digital services, enhance government efficiency, and unlock new economic opportunities for citizens and businesses.

“Kenya fully supports the #50in5 Initiative as a practical pathway to delivering digital services at scale and unlocking economic opportunity across our continent,” said Kabogo.

He emphasized that collaboration among African nations will be key in accelerating the implementation of digital systems that can drive innovation, improve service delivery, and bridge the digital divide.

Kabogo further expressed Kenya’s readiness to work closely with Algeria and other partners to deepen cooperation and fast-track the adoption of digital public infrastructure across the region.
