Information Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo on Tuesday said that Kenya will continue to welcome structured cooperation that strengthens Kenya’s national cybersecurity posture and safeguards our digital transformation gains.

He said at the Ministry office after he hosted a courtesy call from the delegation of Safetech Innovations, and Romanian Ambassador to Kenya H.E Gentiana Serbu.

Safetech Innovations is a Romanian firm which specializes in comprehensive cybersecurity solutions. Our discussion centred on cybersecurity as a critical priority for Kenya, particularly as we accelerate digitisation across government.

“We deliberated on the protection of critical infrastructure, institutional capacity building, and the need to build strong and sustainable cyber resilience frameworks,’ he said.

Kabogo revealed that they discussed collaboration in research and development, especially partnerships with the Kenyan institutions of higher learning to promote knowledge transfer and exchange of experience.

He argued that Kenya and Romania will continue to enjoy cordial bilateral relations under an existing Memorandum of Understanding, which provides a framework for cooperation in key areas including ICT and innovation.

“This engagement builds on that foundation as we deepen practical collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
