Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry has spoken out against her ex-husband, French actor Olivier Martinez, accusing him of using the court system to “bully” her amid their ongoing custody dispute over their 12-year -old son.
According to court documents, the actress asked to restore her former custody agreement from August 2023, in which Berry and Martinez shared 50/50 custody. Reports say that Martinez already receives $ 8,000 per month in child support from Berry.
She previously revealed she was a victim of domestic violence in past relationships, strongly denying Martinez’s claim that she abused their son.
Berry’s fiancé, musician Van Hunt and her daughter Nahla have been supportive throughout the legal battle. The actress has maintained her priority by ensuring Maceo’s well-being while resisting what she described as Martinez’s attempt to prolong the dispute for monetary benefit.
“When Maceo would come home from his custodial time with Olivier, he would be angry and combative. It took Maceo 2-3 days to acclimate to being at home and when he would go back to Olivier, the cycle would start all over again,” Berry said.
Martinez has requested sole custody of Maceo and asked for a no-contact order from Berry for both himself and their son.
