The government has set aside more than 5 billion shillings to construct 2500 affordable housing units in Busia Town.
The units to be developed under the Affordable Housing program will see 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units availed for the residents of Busia Town.
Speaking during the handover ceremony at the site, western region technical lead Rodgers Stephen Wakhungu said the housing development is part of the government’s wider plan to deliver affordable housing across the country targeting both urban and rural communities
The Affordable Housing Program, a flagship agenda under the government’s development blueprint, seeks to ease the burden of housing costs for low- and middle-income earners while also stimulating job creation and economic growth through the construction sector.
