The government has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding investment in education and promoting clean energy solutions in learning institutions across the country.
Speaking during the Chinga Boys’ High School Prize Giving Day in Nyeri County, Raymond Omollo said education remains the largest beneficiary in the 2026/27 national budget, underscoring its central role in national development.
The event, held at Chinga Boys’ High School, also marked the commissioning of a biogas project aimed at promoting the adoption of clean and sustainable energy within schools.
The initiative was attended at the invitation of Energy Principal Secretary Alex Wachira and Board of Management Chairperson and Court of Appeal Judge Mwaniki Gachoka, bringing together students, staff, and education stakeholders.
“At the invitation of my colleague and alumnus, PS Alex Wachira (Energy), and the BOM Chair and Court of Appeal Judge, Mwaniki Gachoka, we joined students, staff and stakeholders at the Chinga Boys’ High School Prize Giving Day in Nyeri County,”he said.
Omollo noted that the project reflects the government’s broader agenda of supporting green energy solutions while reducing reliance on conventional cooking fuels in institutions.
He emphasized that investing in clean energy within schools not only promotes environmental conservation but also enhances efficiency and cost savings in learning institutions.
In his address, Omollo also urged students to uphold discipline, responsibility, and respect for school regulations, noting that a positive learning environment is built on mutual respect and cooperation.
He added that strong discipline and constructive dialogue among students and staff remain key pillars in achieving academic excellence and holistic development.
