Germany produced a stunning 7-0 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina to set a new record in the UEFA Nations League and secure top spot in Group A3 with a game to spare.
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz was among the scorers as Germany became the first team in the competition’s six-year history to score seven goals in a single match.
Jamal Musiala opened the scoring after just two minutes, heading in a cross from Joshua Kimmich.
Tim Kleindienst then deflected Robert Andrich’s shot into the net to make it 2-0. Havertz extended the lead to 3-0 in the 37th minute, finishing off a quick one-two with Florian Wirtz.
Germany had already secured qualification to the Nations League quarter-finals before this match, but the dominant win ensured they would finish as group winners, setting up a meeting with one of the runners-up in March’s knockout stage.
For Bosnia-Herzegovina, the heavy defeat sealed their relegation to the second tier of the competition.
