Gachagua Tells Duale to Focus on Health, Not Politics

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and leader of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), has called on Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale not to meddle in politics but rather to concentrate on rescuing the country’s health sector.

During a church service at ACK St. Mark Maragua Church in Maragua Constituency, Murang’a County, Gachagua gave President William Ruto a hard time, challenging him to control his executive members and ensure that they concentrate on service delivery without attacking the opposition.

The message of Gachagua was in the form of a counter to the statements made by Health CS Aden Duale on Saturday while he was defending President Ruto’s leadership.

Duale said that opposition was uncomfortable because President Ruto was uniting the country deliberately. Gachagua, in a sharp retort, said Duale was spoiling the health docket at a time when the sector was exposed to serious challenges.

According to Gachagua, Cabinet Secretary should focus on improving healthcare services rather than engaging in political rhetoric.

Additionally, he reacted to President Ruto’s statement insinuating that the opposition probably needed medical treatment. Instead, he asked the President to concentrate on reviving the Kenyatta National Hospital, which he described as the “sick” and a source of suffering to a majority of the Kenyans.
