A police crackdown on drug and street crime in Mtwapa’s Kipapuro area has culminated into five arrests after five suspects were apprehended during a police drug-trafficking operation.
During the raid, officers arrested five suspects believed to be involved in drug trafficking and other criminal activities. Police also recovered 30 sachets and 175 rolls of suspected cannabis sativa, which were seized and preserved as exhibits to support ongoing investigations.
The suspects were taken into police custody, where they remain awaiting processing before being arraigned in court.
According to NPS, police will be using a multifaceted approach of proactive policing, intelligence, led operations and sustained enforcement in crime areas such as narcotics, robbery and other criminal crimes to fight crime effectively.
The National Police Service said it remains committed to combating crime through proactive policing, intelligence-led operations and sustained enforcement against individuals involved in drug trafficking, robbery and other criminal activities.
The government have called on the public to help in the investigation by reporting of crime to police as a part of the effort by the communities to make a difference with law, enforcement partners through crime prevention.
