President William Ruto’s personal assistant, Farouk Kibet, has trashed the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), recently launched by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Gachagua unveiled the DCP on May 15, 2025, positioning it as his new political vehicle ahead of the 2027 General Election. However, Farouk has branded the outfit divisive, tribal and lacking substance.
Speaking in Kibwezi West, Makueni County, Farouk accused Gachagua of resorting to tribal politics and using the DCP as a platform to further a divisive agenda.
He noted that Gachagua was impeached due to his tribal rhetoric and is now attempting to re-enter the political arena with the same tactics under the new party.
He quipped that Gachagua, after being “chased out” for tribalism, had gone on to form what he mockingly called the “Divide Community Party,” a play on the DCP acronym.
"Mutuse helped us chase a tribal man. He chased the tribal man till he formed the party called Divide Community Party, where he wants to advance his tribal and divisive politics”, Kibet said
